First Year Experience

First Year Mentors welcome and help new students become acclimated to campus community, both academically and socially. Meet the FYMS »

Welcome to the Office of First Year Experience!

The Office of First Year Experience, or FYE, provides programming and services to all new students on Pitt-Oakland’s campus.  This includes all first year college freshman as well as new transfer students and those who have relocated from other Pitt campuses.  FYE is housed in the Department of Student Life, but is a collaboration with many other offices including Residence Life, Commuter Student Programs and Transfer Student Programs. This site will provide you with information about orientation programs, retreats and other programs designed for first year students.

Wondering what is happening on campus now that Orientation is over? Check out the First Year Success Series! Attend events, win prizes and gain OCC credit.

First Year Mentor Applications are now available and are due February 6th, 2015. Visit our First Year Mentor site and watch this short video for more information.
